Tom Paris was born on Earth and graduated from Starfleet Academy, however he joined the Maquis and was captured by Starfleet and sent to a penal colony in New Zealand. Because of his expert piloting skills he was temporily assigned to Voyager on their first mission to the badlands in 2371. His best friend is Harry Kim and he is married to B'Elanna Torres. Tom Paris is played by Robert Duncan McNeill.
