Benjamin Sisko was born 2332 in New Orleans, Earth. He graduated from Starfleet academy in 2354 and was assigned to the U.S.S. Livingston, U.S.S Okinawa and U.S.S Saratoga before being assigned to DS9 in 2369 after the Cardassians withdrew from Bajor. He helped discover the wormhole near DS9, which percipited the Bajorans to call him their Emissary sent by the prophets to save the Bajoran people. He met his wife Jennifer in 2353 and they had a son Jake. She died aboard the Saratoga and he is currently married to Kassidy Yates. Captain Sisko is played by Avery Brooks.
