Geordi Laforge is the Chief Engineering Officer aboard the Enterprise-D. He was born in the African Confederation on Earth in 2335. He graduated from Starfleet in 2357 and was assigned to the U.S.S. Victory and joined the Enterprise-D in 2364 after impressing Captain Picard with his dedication to the warp engines. His best friend is Data and his interests include model ship building and finding the right woman. Geordi was born blind and wears a VISOR (vision instrument and organ replacement) Geordi Laforge is played by LaVar Burton.
