Julian Bashir was born in 2342 and graduated from Starfleet Medical in 2369. He was assigned to Deep Space Nine, shortly after the Cardassian withdrawal from Bajor and the station. Bashir requested to be stationed on DS9 because he wanted to practice medicine on the frontier. He serves as Chief Medical Officer. His best friend is Miles O'Brien and is also good friends with Garak, the resident Cardassian on the station. Julian Bashir is played by Alexander Siddig.
